Bot's Best Friend - Animation

Bot's Best Friend is a 3D animated short film about the blossoming friendship between a robot and a fox.

After living as a drifter for many years, a stubborn and lonely robot has found himself stuck in a secluded forest. When he encounters a fox who seems to be in trouble, he must take in this unlikely companion and learn to care for something other than himself.

January 2016 - The Last Time: A Story of love, Lust & Desperation. An all New, Original Musical. 

A classic fairytale where boy meets girl, girl meets girl, they all fall in love, and one night on tequila may destroy the happy ending... 
Caroline (Kat Bramston) can’t seem to get her life together. Every weekend she finds herself hung over, in a stranger’s bed. Each time, she says it will be the last time, yet she can’t seem to kick her love of booze and men. Charming womanizer Christopher (Hayden Crosweller) is determined to win her heart. The only problem is, his love of expensive scotch and blonde women makes it hard for Caroline to trust him.
Caroline’s best friend Ellie (France McNair) just wants love. She finds the lesbian dating pool in Canberra to be small and doesn’t understand why she can’t make a healthy relationship work. Lucky for her, she runs into a charismatic guitar player Valerie (Katherine Berry), who might be just who she is looking for. Yet Valerie has a secret that she will not share, and it may destroy their budding relationship before it even begins.
One night out will either make or break the romances to come. With tequila, song and dance, it all seems to be going well for the two couples, yet their self-destructive egos leaves them wondering where their clothes, and their dignity went.

With Little Hope, is a heart-felt story based on her personal experience after a life changing accident which left her with an acquired brain injury.

CADA's Advanced Diploma students deliver a new angle view to this classic naturalism play: The Homecoming - Abridged. 

The Homecoming is a two-act play written in 1964 and set in North London; the play deals with Teddy's and Ruth's "homecoming," which has distinctly symbolic and thematic implications.

 Shadow House Pits - Operating like a cockroach at the table of culture ... 
Canberra's leading experimental theatre presents The Mask of Lucy Raven's Eyes. 
The events in "The Mask Of Lucy Raven's Eyes" are focused around 1979 to 1999 in Dublin, Ireland, but they could just as easily be cast in light of today's world. The frightening and callous dismissal of the human rights of young women by religious and political states while sanctimoniously upholding the high moral ground of the sanctimony of life and god's will is still a feature of life in 2015.
The Mask of Lucy Raven's Eye's will have performances over January - March, including a Live Stream performance at the Smith's Alliterative Bookshop.

November to December 2014 - Anthology (Theatre)

ANTHOLOGY is a site specific theatrical journey through the vanished suburb of Westlake, now known as Stirling Park. The site is Ngunawal land, Guru Bung Dhaura (Stony Ground) a traditional pathway, and from the 1920’s the site of one of the camps created to house the workers building the new city of Canberra.
 
As the audience is guided through Westlake, by a fictional descendant of HM Rolland, the remnants of a community are waiting to be discovered, fragments of hidden memories can be glimpsed, shadow spaces inhabited by workers and their families are littered with broken conversations. A forgotten community is suspended in time, whispered stories are waiting to be heard.

October 2014 - Macbeth (Theatre)

Just in time for Halloween, CADA's Advanced Diploma students perform Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, as part of their Elizabethan unit of study.

In this production directed by James Scott, it's a post-apocalyptic vision of the Scottish tale of ambition and betrayal. Classic Shakespearean tragedy clawing at the heart of the human condition, Macbeth tells the story of a nobleman who believes a prophecy that he will one day be King of Scotland. He goes on to murder the King and take over his throne... psychological and political trouble ensues...

Maybe, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, Briar needs to be reborn. And maybe, he'll finally notice the cute checkout girl that "checks" him out every week.

Based on the ancient Chinese cosmology, The Twelve Branches of Life, the plays are a revealing mosaic of human interaction across a range of emotional landscapes.
From a chance meeting between a man and a woman in a café, to the prodigal son who returns home to enslave a helpless older man, this fiercely intelligent writing illuminates moments of cruelty and beauty so often hidden when two people interact.

The ApARTments, New Acton Canberra is an exclusive, highbrow apartment building - These Are Not The Apartments For You.
Dealing with a potentially controversial and highbrow concept, careful planning and regular liaising with creative heads was required to ensure the right tone was achieved across all aspects of production. The commercial won a Gold Remi at the 45th Worldfest Film Festival in 2012.
